Mission of the Temple
Our mission is to promote rich cultural heritage through prayers, celebrations of festivals, spiritual discourses, and cultivation of sacred traditions in the youth and children.

History of Temple
The Hindu Temple of Terre Haute (HTTH) has been an ardent dream of the local Indian community. Terre Haute consists of 300 Indian Americans from all walks of life who have called it home for generations. Our community leaders have kicked off a campaign of donations in 2024 to build the Hindu Temple, which quickly gathered momentum. Groundbreaking ceremony was celebrated on May 18th, 2025, with installation of Sri Yantra / Sri Chakra into the temple ground to harness divine energy. The temple’s architectural design and construction projects are based on the Agama Shastra. The temple construction is currently projected to be complete by the fall of 2026.
The temple includes 11 deities and Navagraha. The main deity is Lord Ganesha, remover of all obstacles, and whose prayer starts off any auspicious event in Hindu culture. The following is the list of deities to fulfill diverse cultural and spiritual needs of the devotees:
