Mission of the Temple

Hindu Temple of Terre Ha Our mission is to promote rich cultural heritage through prayers, celebrations of festivals, spiritual discourses, and the cultivation of sacred traditions in the youth and children.

History of Temple

The Hindu Temple of Terre Haute (HTTH) has been an ardent dream of the local Indian community. Terre Haute consists of 300 Indian Americans from all walks of life who have called it home for generations. Our community leaders have kicked off a campaign of donations in 2024 to build the Hindu Temple, which quickly gathered momentum. Prayers to Sri Yantra / Sri Chakra have commenced from March 30 th, 2025, to harness divine energy for the temple. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for May 18th, 2025. This ceremony will include the installation of the yantra into the temple ground. The temple’s architectural design and construction projects are based on the Agama Shastra. The temple construction is currently projected to be complete by the summer of 2026.

Temple Details

The temple includes 11 deities and Navagraha. The main deity is Lord Ganesha, remover of all obstacles, and whose prayer starts off any auspicious event in Hindu culture. The following is the list of deities to fulfill diverse cultural and spiritual needs of the devotees: Lord Ganesha, Shiva Parvati, Ambe Maa, Lord Venkateswara, Lord Murugan, Ram Parivar, Radha Krishna, Gayatri Maa, Umiya Maa, Sai Baba, Lord Hanuman, Navagraha

The Hindu temple is proud to announce that we are the only temple for Umiya Ma in a 200-mile radius. The temple is envisioned as a place to observe religious rituals and to provide spiritual guidance.

Ram Parivar

Ram Parivar symbolizes the ideals of dharma, devotion, sacrifice, and love.

Shri Sai Baba

Saint of Compassion, faith, & miracles. Symbol of unity, peace, and selfless service.

Ambe Maa

Ambe Maa is the embodiment of divine feminine energy, representing strength.

Radha Krishna

The love of Radha Krishna is the epitome of divine union, devotion, and spiritual fulfillment.

Umiya Maa

Umiya Maa is widely worshipped by devotees for blessings of health, wealth, and family well-being.

Lord Hanuman

Lord Hanuman is worshipped for his devotion, strength, and protective qualities.

Navagraha

The Navagraha are an integral part of Hindu astrology that symbolize the cosmic forces that shape human life.
